Monkshood is a flowering plant with magical proprieties. Muggles know of monkshood, but they are unaware of it's magical properties. They classify it as a member of the buttercup family. Monkshood is best known for being an ingredient in the Wolfsbane Potion. Monkshood is a perennial plant (it lives for more than one year) that is only natives of the mountainous parts of the northern hemisphere.
Flowers: monkshood flowers are useful in potion-making. The flowers can be blue or yellow.
Leaves: monkshood leaves are very poisonous
It is also know as aconite and wolfsbane (and also as leopard's bane, women's bane, Devil's helmet and blue rocket, although there names are less common). Aconite is considered it's official name.
