An unknown object turning into a single bird, due to Avifors.
Avifors is a Transfiguration spell that transforms an objects into a bird, or into a flock of birds. Avifors is pronounced AVI-forz. When the spell is cast, vivid blue light will exude from the wand of the person casting the spell and shoot at the object they are casting the spell on.
Etymology[]
The incantation comes from the Latin avis meaning bird, and fors, a suffix often used in transfiguration spells. Fors is also Latin for "chance, luck, fortune", though it most likely comes from forma (or simply English form) meaning form. Assuming the fors part of it means form, the incantation literately means bird form.
